This 500 year old house is my living and working space. It is situated in a small street near the lake of Zurich in the nighbourhood of many landmarked buildings.
Long ago my house was a factory for huge barrels. Therefore, it`s scale is unusually generous for the time it was built, and I have an abundance of space to work and to live, to receive clients, to present fabrics, drafts and ideas. This unique environment presents a constant source of inspiration for me, and helps my ability to transform the conversations with clients into concrete and realizable images. Upon inspection of an empty and yet soulless home, I can infuse it with new character using creative decoration solutions.
When remodelling my house, I preserved the old materials as much as possible. I complemented these with a monolithic white floor, walls, stone and wood were painted white, and I replaced metal cores by tree trunks. |
